IEC Linking on DGFT Portal by 30.06.2021

All persons holding IEC code who are involved in carrying on business activities which involves cross border transactions are advised to link IEC code before 30/06/2021.

IEC code is an important business identification number which is mandatory for Exports or Imports of goods. No person shall make any import or export except under an IEC Number granted by the DGFT. In case of import or export of services or technology, the IEC shall be required only when the service or technology provider is taking benefits under the Foreign Trade Policy or is dealing with specified services or technologies. Thus if one is not claiming such FTP benefits then such service provider need not register for IEC as of now.

IEC can be applied any legally constituted entities under the law as a business enterprise. Now IEC CODE is same as PAN Number of the constituted entities but it needs to be registered on DGFT website.

Steps to Link your IEC

1. Register on DGFT Website – Valid Email and Mobile Number Required
2. Login to DGFT Website
3. Click on Link IEC button displayed on the homepage.
4. Enter your IEC by authenticating through Aadhaar based OTP or Digital Signature.
